Roundtable: New Principles for Politics

Partnered with the Nya Principer för Politik coalition to show how clearer peace definitions can inform political reform and civil society coordination in Sweden.

7 April 2020 Mariatorget, Stockholm Roundtable & coalition engagement

The Institute engaged with Nya Principer för Politik in Stockholm, a coalition of civil society groups examining shortcomings in Sweden’s political institutions.

Without a shared understanding of what peace means in operational terms, political reforms risk addressing symptoms rather than root causes.

The session presented models showing how definitional clarity in peace can inform political reform and evidence-based policy critique. The Institute contributed frameworks linking that clarity to better-designed political institutions and civil society partnerships.
